Throughout his career, Kash’s leadership has created real results to reduce gang violence and keep our communities safe. As a District Commander, his attention to strategic planning achieved an unprecedented reduction in property crime throughout South Vancouver. Murder rates in Southeast Vancouver were reduced significantly as a result of his vision in creating the Gang Violence Task Force.

Thanks to his results-based, creative approach to fighting crime, Kash was promoted in 2006 to Superintendent of South Command. In that role, he continued the battle against gang violence. His work in advancing the revolutionary CompStat system provided our police officers with a valuable tool to track and fight crime. Over the course of his command, gang-related violence fell by over 40%, and there was a dramatic reduction in drug trafficking and marijuana grow-ops throughout Southeast Vancouver. His emphasis on Community Policing brought law enforcement together with local area residents to keep Southeast Vancouver safe.

Kash’s long and impressive record is well known in law enforcement circles, and in 2007, he was named Chief Constable of the West Vancouver Police Department. There, he challenged local orthodoxies and reformed the WVPD, encouraging staff at all levels to innovate. Under his leadership, crime reduction benchmarks were set, and officers were motivated to achieve those targets.

However, with the growth in gang violence throughout the Lower Mainland, Kash understands that broader action is needed to combat this threat to public safety. After consulting with his family, colleagues, and community members, he decided to seek the BC Liberal nomination in Vancouver-Fraserview, an area that he spent 28 years keeping safe.

Kash holds a Master’s Degree in Criminology from SFU, where he currently serves as an adjunct professor. He is married and has an infant daughter.

派人士的挑戰，鼓勵各階級警員勇於改革創新。在他的領導下，西溫警局定出了降低犯罪率的

目標，全局士氣高昂的朝此目標努力。

有鑑於近來幫派暴力在低陸平原地區的日益猖獗，希德深感必須從更大處著手，做全區域通盤

的整頓，才能有效迎戰這個對大眾安全的威脅。在與家人、同僚和社區人士懇談之後，希德決
